The Borgata has announced the dates for its 2011 Winter Open (though not a full schedule), which includes a $2 Million guaranteed prize pool main event to be held Jan. 30 to Feb. 4.

The entire open runs from Jan. 19 to Feb. 4.

That’s pretty much it for now, but it does ensure that another major tournament will be underway in the city during the slower winter months after the World Series of Poker circuit event next month at Harrah’s. Considering that Caesars also has a WSOP circuit event in March, all we need is someone to kick in with a major February event to get us to spring.

Meanwhile, the small bad beat at The Borgata hit Tuesday for $30,175. Remember, the casino splits its bad beat into high (quad 10s or better) and low (quad deuces to nines). The low bad beat pays about 25 percent of the total bad beat jackpot.

According to The Borgata, David Chaiken (Aberdeen, NJ), with quad nines took home $12,072  while local player Syed Haider (Brigantine, NJ) took home $6,035 and the pot with quad kings. The remaining seven players at the table won $1,724.
