The Dogs of Poker App
Another cool poker app is hitting the market and it actually gives this blog a chance to fulfill a several weeks old dream (Hey, we’ve only been around that long) of somehow finding a reason to use a picture of dogs playing poker.
So here it is as Candywriter today announced a new iPhone app called Dogs Playing Poker 1.0. The app costs $1.99 and is available at The App Store.
The app is actually a game designed to teach hold’em, (which explains why the dogs in this modernized pic aren’t playing a more traditional poker game).
Here’s the description:
“Users select their dog breed of choice and then enter a five-round tournament that spans a junkyard, dog pound, train car, den, and Chinese restaurant kitchen! On the way, users face off against 18 unique hounds and, as if the app wasn’t entertaining enough already, a fox and a walrus have also been included in the line up.
Poker novices can quickly get up-to-speed on the ins and outs of Texas Hold ‘em by completing the built-in tutorial. Experienced players can enjoy the diverse poker playing traits of the various characters and the hundreds of poker “tells” bundled into the game. Dogs Playing Poker is loaded with extra touches that range from the ability to pet and poke the dogs to a feature called “Every Dog Has Its Day” that tracks the cleverest canine in the world on any given day.”
This means that another lifelong dream — that of posing as a shih tzu while slow playing pocket aces against a walrus in a Chinese resturant kitchen — can finally come true as well.
By the way, we don’t usually shill apps for people — except, of course, for the incredibly handy and easy-to-use Atlantic City Weekly Bar Guide app which keeps track of drink specials and offers from Atlantic City area bars and that you can get here, here, here.
But then again, maybe we do.
