That’s It For Birdguts

Gavin Smith

All poker players know things can turn on you pretty fast. And they did for Gavin “Birdguts” Smith, who was done in by snowmen and takes a seventh place finish at The East Coast Championship at The Borgata Spring Poker Open. Smith went all in with pocket 8’s, but came up against fellow pro Chris Klodnicki’s pocket jacks. The board brought no help, and Smith settled for a $19,464 cash. Smith had been chip leader after the first day of the tournament.

Worse than that, we can no longer use “Birdguts “in our headlines — dammit.

There are still seven players at the final table. Go here to follow the action.
