Jeff Schwachter
Jeff Schwachter has a classic duel personality. By day he is the excellent editor of Atlantic City Weekly. By night he is an excellent singer/guitarist who fronts the band Ocean Ryders. The Ocean Ryders have performed numerous times at various events in the region.
Schwachter’s eclectic musical taste ranges from classic blues and rock to almost anything imaginable from the Bob Dylan songbook.
If you stop by Trump Plaza’s Beach Bar (beach at Mississippi Ave.) this Friday, June 3, you can check out the Ocean Ryders at 5pm, followed by the band featuring Philadelphia Daily News columnist Chuck Darrow, Rendezvous, at 6pm.
Some artists are good with both words … and music.
According to a press release, top-ranked major-league eaters will assemble at Trump Plaza’s Beach Bar in Atlantic City on Saturday, May 29, to vie for the title of New Jersey Hot Dog Eating Champion. The N.J. champion will get the chance to compete at the 95th annual Nathan’s Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, N.Y., where three-time defending national champion Joey Chestnut of San Jose, Cal., consumed 68 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to set a new world record in 2009.
