Concert Updates: Multi-tasking Performers
Thursday, May 26th, 2011
With Memorial Day Weekend on the way, the weather is not the only thing heating up. More entertainment has been announced and that includes several performers who are multi-tasking.
Jamie Foxx, for example, will be the host of a Foxxhole Comedy Jam at Caesars on Friday, July 1, with comics Earthquake, Aries Spears, Tony Roberts and more. Then on Sunday, July 3, Foxx presents his singing skills in a concert at the House of Blues.
Fans who are excited about the Dave Matthews Caravan outdoor concert event June 24-26 at Bader Field, should know that some of the artists performing in that event have now also added concert dates at the House of Blues for that same weekend. Those artists are The Flaming Lips who are appearing at the HOB the day before the Caravan on Thursday, June 23; OAR performing Friday, June 24 at 11pm (and at the Caravan on June 25) and G. Love and Special Sauce, headlining at the HOB on Saturday, June 25, 11pm, following their Caravan appearance on Friday. Tickets for all the shows listed are available through Ticketmaster.
Rants and raves about burning topics that have caught my attention midweek, be it greedy corporate shenanigans, frustration or joy in regards to the Philly sports teams, a movie, show or DVD that has fired up my imagination, an intriguing personality, or what’s happening in the region. — Lori Hoffman, Associate Editor, Atlantic City Weekly
