Mays Landing Fall Festival

While my favorite fall festival, the Chatsworth Cranberry Festival, is a few weeks away, I decided to warm up my festival walking skills by checking out the Mays Landing Fall Festival last Saturday. I arrived early to try and avoid the rain (which never arrived anyway) and missed the highlight of the festival, a chilli contest, which took place later. I did enjoy checking out some Halloween crafts. Taking place at the War Memorial Park, there were some good eats, a pumpkin painting contest for the kids and the usual festival trimmings.
I must confess I bypassed the food at the fest to pick up my favorite sub at the best sub shop in the county, Sugar Hill Subs. My current fave is a Dazzling Dan, corned beef, turkey and Swiss cheese with coleslaw. Yummy!
