Ocean City Contest Offering 11 Free Family Vacations this Summer

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — The Ocean City Tourism Commission and the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce have again joined forces to promote “America’s Greatest Family Resort” in the “Ocean City Free Family Vacation Contest.”

This year, the contest has been expanded to offer 11 free vacations (previously eight) in which 11 different families will each be awarded a fun-filled, week-long family vacation, $500 in spending money, and a gift basket filled with more than $500 worth of Ocean City items.

Members of the Ocean City business community are donating prizes to fill a wonderful gift basket for each of the winners. Included so far are beach tags, gift certificates for restaurants, amusements, downtown and boardwalk shopping, and local attractions.

“Ocean City is ‘America’s Greatest Family Resort’ because we offer safe, clean, family fun for kids of all ages,” says Michele Gillian, executive director of the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Once people visit Ocean City they return year after year to build wonderful family memories.”

Each of the 11 winners will receive a seven-night stay in a three-bedroom condo that sleeps up to eight people. Pictures, addresses and descriptions of each unit are available by going here.

“The Tourism Commission has worked closely with the Ocean City Board of Realtors and the individual local Real Estate agencies to provide the luxurious condo units for the contest,” says Nick Marotta, chairperson of the Ocean City Tourism Commission, “Winners will be treated to an outstanding Ocean City vacation.”

Entrants may enter one time for each of the eleven weeks per email address. Winners will be randomly selected and notified three weeks before their vacation.  Go here for more information.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is delighted that the Parsons family has brought their seafood expertise to Ocean City.

The new 16th Street Seafood celebrated its grand opening on Friday, Aug. 5 in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Parsons previously owned Ocean Drive Seafood in Avalon before opting to sell their Avalon assets and relocate to America’s Greatest Family Resort.

Sixteenth Street Seafood offers an entire line of fresh and cooked seafood daily, including a variety of fried, steamed, and linguini platters as take-out dishes. Its fresh market includes scallops, shrimp, Ahi tuna, flounder, tilapia, swordfish, grouper, king crab, snow crab, blue crabs, lobster tails, clams, mussels, crab meat, crab fingers and many other options. The establishment also accommodates clients’ traveling needs by packing their fresh seafood on ice.

Ocean City’s New South-End Welcome Center

IMG_1137OCEAN CITY, N.J. — The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the new Ocean City South End Welcome Center is officially open.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Monday, June 27, in honor of the event. The new Welcome Center is located in the ACME parking lot on 34th Street in Ocean City.

The South End Welcome Center will offer all the same amenities as the 9th Street Welcome Center, such as brochures, maps, local and regional information, coupon books and O.C. visitors guides.  It will also be a new location from which people may purchase their seasonal beach tags.

The South End Welcome Center is a partnership of the City of Ocean City, Ocean City Tourism Development Commission, Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, ACME and numerous business people who donated their talents and services.
