Singer/Songwriter Phil Cody joins TV 40’s Michelle Dawn Mooney

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Cincinnati born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Phil Cody (left) will be appearing at the Trinity Irish Pub on Thursday, July 30, at 7:30pm. The show is free to all who would like to attend. Performing at 8:30pm is singer/songwriter Michelle Dawn Mooney (below), who may be best known locally as the television news anchor for NBC-TV 40 in Atlantic City.
Cody released a critically acclaimed album in the late 1990s on Interscope Records , as well as two self-released records, and he’s performed with such esteemed artists like Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon and Steve Earle. A direct descendant of Buffalo Bill Cody, Phil Cody’s story-based, introspective lyrics have brought comparisons to such luminaries as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
Despite a growing following, Cody took an extended sabbatical to focus on raising a family. He began work on a new record, set for release later this year, and this will be his first tour of the East Coast in almost a decade. He was one of the headliners of the Singer-Songwriter Showcase this past March at Historic Congress Hall in Cape May, and his set received rave reviews.
