Artist Michael Godard to Visit The Pier Shops Dec. 4-5

acw_MichaelGodardKnown as the “rock star of the art world,” Michael Godard (left), the top-selling modern artist in the United States according to his Web site, will be holding an in-store, two-day appearance at the Oh My Godard Art Gallery at the Pier Shops at Caesars on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5.

Godard will meet and greet fans, sign artwork, and create original artwork during his appearances, which will be from 5-9pm Saturday and noon-3pm Sunday. Collectors are invited to meet the renowned artist who paved his own way to fame.

“I learned the ‘rules’ of art, then promptly forgot them,” says Godard, who is from southern California and studied art at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas for Fine Arts, and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. “Now I paint the way I want.”

Godard will also make himself available to potential buyers to create original sketches. Those interested in the opportunity to work with Godard to infuse an original idea with his traditional characters and style may purchase a blank canvas. Godard has been featured on HBO’s Cat House, A&E’s Criss Angel’s Mind Freak, American Casino, and Inked. A documentary on Godard’s life featured at independent film festivals has won numerous awards. Additionally, his book Don’t Drink and Draw – The Art and Life of Michael Godard, was awarded Art Book of the Year.

Godard initially struggled as an artist, and sadly found his niche in the hospital while sketching lighthearted pictures of olives for his daughter, Paige, who passed away at age 16 in 2006.  Godard is inspired by her memory, hoping to bring a little happiness into the lives of others.
