PHILADELPHIA, PA. — Acclaimed chef Chris Scarduzio’s Table 31 Restaurant in Philadelphia, in a partnership with Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City chefs and The Star Group, hosted a special “Savor for Sandy” cooking event to raise money for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City employees affected by Hurricane Sandy. The event took place Sunday evening, Dec. 16, and all of the proceeds went directly to the Wish Upon a Hero Foundation.

“I jumped at the opportunity to give back to the community and to help those who are in dire need by offering to host Savor for Sandy,” said Scarduzio. “I know people from Philly and South Jersey will rally around this cause and bring their appetite to support their coastal neighbors, all while enjoying a wonderful night of great food and company.”

In the days leading up to the Savor for Sandy event, Wish Upon a Hero collected specific “wishes” from Caesars employees that consist of items they need replaced most. Then, proceeds from Savor for Sandy will be used to make approved wishes come true by giving families up to $1,000 per household to help them recover from the devastation.

Wish Upon a Hero is the world’s largest social helping network. The peer-to-peer platform connects people in need with people willing to help. Wishes range from basic needs to medical and financial needs.  Heroes can help by donating money, offering a service, or purchasing a specific item. Since its launch in 2007, more than 97,000 wishes have been granted.

The United Way of Atlantic County’s 7th Annual Auction for the Community will take place Friday, March 19, from 6-10 pm at Bally’s in Atlantic City. The event will embrace renowned master chefs Georges Perrier and Chris Scarduzio, partners of the celebrated Mediterranean Bistro Mia who will meet on stage for an energetic demonstration of their expertise in fine cuisine around 7:30 pm., a live auction hosted by Flyers Hall-of-Famer Dave Schultz around 8:30 pm, an extended silent auction and honoree Ms. Alyce Parker, Vice President of Public Affairs for Harrah’s Entertainment.

Caesars’ award-winning restaurant Mia, under the direction of esteemed chefs Georges Perrier and Chris Scarduzio, will launch its new “Seduction Menu” on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27.
The menu will feature 10 savory items and a selection of unique cocktails, all for under $10, and will provide Caesars patrons with a unique take on late-night dining. The menu will be available every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9pm until closing, and coincides with the days of the week that popular nightclub Dusk is open.
“With Caesars being home to Dusk, Atlantic City’s hottest night spot, it makes sense for us to offer a luxurious, affordable dining experience to people whether they are coming or going from the club or casino,” says Caesars Atlantic City vice president of marketing Erin Chamberlain in a media release. “Caesars is always looking to offer its customers innovative entertainment options. This new Seduction Menu at Mia certainly offers that to our loyal customers.”

Menu items include Fire and Ice Tuna Crudo, House Smoked Salmon Terrine, White Cheddar Cheese Panini, Oysters on the Half Shell, Philly Cheese Steak Spring Roll and more.
