Magic Hat Pistil, a dandelion ale

It’s no secret that I’m enthusiastic about a good beverage. It’s also no secret that when I’m looking through the shelves at my local bottle shop, that I have a particular fondness for micro-style brews. So when I had the opportunity to try out a brand new seasonal offering from the good folks at Magic Hat, I was a happy camper. This time around, I was sampling a rare find … Magic Hat Pistil, a dandelion ale. I brought the bottle home, popped the cap and poured into a tulip glass. The stage was set.

This seasonal offering is unlike many beers I’ve sampled over the years. My first impressions came from the appearance of the brew. It pours golden and ever-so-slightly hazy with just a hint of rose color. It was effervescent like champagne and developed a thin wispy head that vanished almost immediately.
