Atlantic City Wind Farm Moving Ahead of the Pack
Wednesday, February 16th, 2011According to reports, a planned offshore Atlantic City Wind Farm (unlike the Atlantic County Utility Authority’s wind turbines on-shore in Atlantic City, see video above) may be the first of its kind in the nation as a huge step has been made in order for that to happen.
According to delawareonline.com:
“On Feb. 9, Fishermen’s Energy of New Jersey filed its petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to approve the sale of renewable energy certificates to finance the project. The company’s filing is likely to be the first test of the state’s new program that requires utilities to purchase offshore wind power, or credits from offshore wind projects.”
