The student run fundraising group “Chapters For Charity” book sale will take place Saturday, Dec. 10, at Egg Harbor Township High School in the cafeteria. The proceeds are to benefit the Alcove Center for Grieving Children.
The doors will be open to the public at 10:30am and close at 4pm. For a chance to get an early crack at the stacks, a pre-sale will be held from 9-10am with a $5 donation.
More than 6,000 books in a variety of subjects will be available for purchase. With both hardcovers priced at $1 and paperbacks at only $.50 per book, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to stock your personal library—or find some unusual gifts for the holiday season. The book sale will offer something for everyone. Be sure to arrive early for the best selection. For additional information, call 601-8989 or visit Chapters for Charity on Facebook.
The Chapters for Charity book drive bridges together volunteerism and literacy in our community. “The most successful way to improve literacy levels is to increase the availability and access of books,” states Caroline Tesone, Founder of Chapters for Charity. “By asking my fellow students and the community to help in this cause will make everyone more aware of the importance of literacy in our youths, while at the same time being able to give back to a very important organization.”
