Phish to Play Three Shows in Atlantic City Over Halloween Weekend

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

acw_phish_400

As reported by Spinner.com, the band Phish has announced a fall tour, including three dates in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall. The dates are Oct. 29, 30 & 31. As most Phish fans know, the band typically does something very special for its Halloween gigs.

As spinner.com has it:

“The Atlantic City shows are of particular note because they will be the backdrop for the band’s annual Halloween tradition. Every year on the holiday, Phish perform a three-set show, including one set in which they don a “musical costume” and cover an album in its entirety. Last year’s nominees included discs by MGMT, Michael Jackson and Led Zeppelin, with the winner being the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street.”

Another interesting note: The band’s Trey Anastasio recorded the 2008 album Original Boardwalk Style: Live in Atlantic City, which was recorded during his New Year’s Eve sets at the House of Blues at Showboat in 2006-2007.

Despite Plane Delay Bill Clinton Makes it to Hilton

Monday, July 26th, 2010

ac-hiltonblog

The Hilton Atlantic City’s “Summer Speaker Series” has had to endure its fair share of hardships.

First, the debut of the series, featuring FOX news faces Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly was canceled due to weather. (It has been rescheduled for Aug. 5)

Then, Former President Bill Clinton’s plane was delayed this past Friday, but he eventually made it to Atlantic City and gave a lecture to the sold-out Hilton crowd. Doing so, Clinton became not only the first president ever to enter an Atlantic City casino, but also the first speaker in the Hilton’s summer series, which also includes Ann Coulter and James Carville sharing the stage on Aug. 21 and Dick Cheney taking the stage Sept. 18.
