Just like everything else, the price of headliner shows at the casinos has been going up. Now, however, Caesars Entertainment is providing a spectacular one-day sale, tomorrow, April 18, to give your wallet a break.

The company’s ‘Spring Has Sprung Sale’ for its signature Atlantic City and Philadelphia entertainment venues — Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, The House of Blues at Showboat Atlantic City and Harrah’s Philadelphia — will offer select shows for an amazing $9.99.

Beginning Friday, April 18 from noon-8pm, all tickets to select shows will be on sale at the House of Blues box office for $9.99. South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble to Present ‘A Touch Of Italy’ April 28

SJAWE 2014GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble will present its 18th anniversary spring concert American Masterpieces at 7:30pm Monday, April 28, at the Performing Arts Center of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

The concert will take the audience on a musical journey through Italy with such well known and loved pieces as “The Barber of Seville Overture,” “The Anvil Chorus,”and “Trieste Overture.” Guest euphonium soloist, John Palatucci, will join the group for a rousing version of “Carnival of Venice.” Palatucci is the co-principal euphonium for the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York city and principal euphonium for the Ridgewood Band.

The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble is a 65-member group comprised of the area’s top professional musicians, music educators and other highly accomplished musicians and has been recognized as one of the top 50 community bands in the United States.

The ensemble has a strong commitment to ensuring that the love of music is passed on to future generations.  Its members have worked closely with South Jersey’s finest student musicians, and 45 students representing 12 area high schools and the Richard Stockton College of NJ have been selected to join them on stage to play “side-by-side” for the second half of the concert.

During the performance, the SJAWE will present the “Vivace” award to recognize those individuals who have supported the live arts and the band over the years.  The honorees are Dr. Herman and Dorothy Saatkamp, Wallace and Roberta Barr, Dr. Walter and Helle DePalma, Frank and Sharon Kollman, Raymond and Gina Ciccone, and Stella Hordes.

The band will be led by conductor Keith W. Hodgson and associate conductor Ron Poorman. Frank Mazzeo, adjunct professor of music at Temple University, will join the group as a guest conductor.

Classic Rock Summer with Aerosmith, Slash

aerosmithSlashBoardwalk Hall is going “all in” to create a classic rock summer at the iconic concert venue. Joining previously announced shows Queen with Adam Lambert (July 26) and KISS with Def Leppard (Aug. 2), it has just been announced that legendary rock band Aerosmith will team up with iconic guitarist Slash to “Let Rock Rule” with a Labor Day Weekend concert at Historic Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, Aug. 31. The event is presented by Caesars Atlantic City in association with Live Nation.

Tickets, priced from $59.50 to $195, will go on sale Monday, April 14 at noon exclusively through Ticketmaster online at by phone at 800-736-1420 or in person at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office.

Rock’s most lethal army — Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford, and special guest SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators — will join forces for the “Let Rock Rule” tour.

Brigantine Concert Series Starts April 10 w/the Famed Atlantic City All Star Band

BRIGANTINE, N.J. — The recently announced 2014 Brigantine Concert Series, which gets into full swing during the summer with three live-music events in each of July and August, kicks things off Thursday, April 10, with area favorites Jim “The Singing Lifeguard” Craine and his Atlantic City All Stars, who this year are embarking on their “40th Anniversary Overnight Success Tour.”

“It’s an honor to be kicking off Brigantine’s annual concert series,” says Craine, whose All Star Band will be performing the songs of legends like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Al Jolson, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond and many others.

All Brigantine Concert Series shows are free and start 7pm at the Brigantine North School Auditorium, with the exception of Family Fun Day during Fourth of July Weekend when the Original Hobo Band of Pitman, N.J. (established 1946) performs at the 15th Street Recreational Complex (6pm Saturday, July 5), and the Jack Melton Band performs at the Brigantine Beach Community Center at 7pm on July 24.

After the A.C. All Stars, the series continues with a Memorial Day Weekend concert Saturday, May 24, at the North School Auditorium with the Atlantic Brass Band — an award-winning brass ensemble now in its 26th year, and widely considered to be one of the finest brass bands in the nation. The following day, Sunday, May 25, the Atlantic Brass Band will be the opening act in the 25th annual Cape May Music Festival starting 8pm. Presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, the festival runs from May 25-June 14 (click here for info on last year’s event).

queentourFans of both Queen and Adam Lambert, here is a concert update alert. Due to overwhelming demand, five additional shows have been added to the Queen plus Adam Lambert summer tour (Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert).

Now the tour will stop at Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, July 26, 8pm.  Tickets for the newly added dates will be on sale beginning Saturday, March 29 at 9am local time through the Live Nation mobile app and at American Express® Card Members could purchase tickets beginning today. Tickets for the AC show are $52.75, $69.75 and $171.80 (all prices include fees).

REVEL BEACH, ATLANTIC CITY — Revel continues to reveal a diversified entertainment lineup for the first half of 2014, including a concert on Saturday, March 22, featuring Greek music sensations Nikos Oikonomopoulos and Eleni Foureira, who will take the stage at Ovation Hall starting 9pm.

Oikonomopoulos began singing and taking music lessons in a very young age. He started singing professionally at age 17 and, after six years of singing professionally, won the famous Greek TV talent show Dream Show Music 2. His first single “Koita na Matheneis” became a huge hit throughout Greece. A year later he won Best Upcoming Artist at the Greek Music Awards, and at the MAD Video Music Awards of 2008.  For the last three years Oikonomopoulos has sung in some of the most famous Greek venues and participated in some of the most successful shows, recently collaborating with fellow singing sensation Foureira.

Foureira was born in Albania and earned respect in the world of Greek music from a young age, taking up guitar and interest in theater from childhood. She was previously part of a girl group called “Mystique” before launching her solo career.  For the Greek final in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, she placed second with Manos and Giannis Pirovolakis. She sang “Wild Dances with Ruslana” in the Greek final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Greece.

This summer two of the world’s greatest rock bands, Kiss and Def Leppard are set to deliver a massive tour dedicated to fans who wanna rock and roll all night with a stop in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, August 2. These two legendary rock bands spanning two continents announced March 17 that they will launch the tour as KISS celebrates their 40th year in music. The summer’s biggest hit-fueled rock tour, presented by Caesars Atlantic City in association with Live Nation, will storm through 40-plus cities.

KISS and Def Leppard jointly decided to support our heroes and honor their dedicated fans in the armed services by partnering with numerous military organizations for the tour. Partnerships will include the USO, Hiring Our Heroes, Project Resiliency/The Raven Drum Foundation, August Warrior Project and the Wounded Warrior Project. All military personnel will be given exclusive access to discounted tickets for the tour with their own pre-sale through Military charities will receive a  portion of ticket sales with the money raised being split amongst all the non-profit organizations participating with the summer tour.

More music is coming to Atlantic City via Revel’s Ovation Hall (see video).

On Monday Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City announced three more blockbuster shows for its Ovation Hall.

First, on Sunday, May 25, of Memorial Day weekend, veteran indie-pop band Death Cab for Cutie will take the stage at the state-of-the-art music venue inside Revel. Tickets go on sale at noon this Friday, March 14.

On Saturday, June 7, the Grammy-nominated North Carolina folk-pop outfit, The Avett Brothers, will take the stage at Ovation Hall at 8pm. Tickets are $45, $50 and $55 and also go on sale March 14 at noon.

Finally among the newly announced acts at Revel’s Ovation Hall is Howie Day, the singer-songwriter whose hits include “Collide” and “She Says.” He appears Friday, June 13.

Tickets are $26, $42 and $48 and go on also go on sale March 14 at noon.

The Sing-Off Live Tour! to Make a Stop at Golden Nugget on Friday, March 7

watch-the-sing-off-season-4-live-streamATLANTIC CITY — The Sing-Off, NBC’s number-one rated a cappella music competition now in its fourth season, will make a stop at Golden Nugget Atlantic City for the first ever Sing-Off Live Tour! The tour will visit Golden Nugget’s The Grand showroom starting 9pm Friday, March 7.

Fan favorites from Season 4 will bring their a cappella versions of the biggest chart-topping songs viewers fell in love with from the show. The Sing-Off Live Tour! will feature the newly crowned best a cappella group in the country. The tour will include individual sets from each act, all new group numbers, ultimate sing-offs and a few new surprises.

Morrissey’s U.S. Concert Tour to Include Performance @ Revel’s Ovation Hall

morrisseyREVEL BEACH, ATLANTIC CITY — Globally renowned recording and performing artist Morrissey will embark on an extensive U.S. Tour on May 7.

The tour will stop at Revel’s Ovation Hall on Friday, June 6, starting 8pm. Morrissey’s special guest on all dates will be singer, songwriter and keyboardist Kristeen Young. The legendary Welsh crooner Tom Jones will Morrissey as support artist during a stop in Los Angeles, and Sir Cliff Richard (the third-top-selling singles artist in the United Kingdom’s history, although less a household name in the U.S.) as support artist in New York City.

The tour dates will come on the heels of Morrissey’s completion of his forthcoming Harvest Records debut album — the artist’s first since 2009’s Years Of Refusal — recorded in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli.  Joining Morrissey on tour will be his longtime band, including Boz Boorer (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Solomon Walker (bass), Matthew Walker (drums) and Gustavo Manzur (keyboards).
