Savor Borgata Weekend Announced for Nov. 8-10

acw-feat-savorborgata ATLANTIC CITY — The Borgata’s beloved Savor Borgata culinary event, which this year takes place the weekend of Nov. 8-10,  is evolving.

According to a statement released Wednesday, Oct. 9, “For the second year, Borgata will present a program of unique events throughout the weekend that celebrate the individual talent of each participating chef.”

On Friday, November 8, Savor Borgata Weekend will commence with “A Taste of 5 Culinary Masters,” a four-course dinner and cocktail party with Bobby Flay and Michael Symon (both Iron Chefs) collaborating with fellow Borgata culinary masters Stephen Kalt, Michael Schulson, and Thaddeus DuBois.

This event will be located at Borgata’s new 28 West (formerly SeaBlue), with guests able to enjoy a course by each chef.

On Saturday afternoon, November 9, Bobby Flay will give a live culinary demonstration at Borgata’s Music Box theatre, where he will discuss his most celebrated recipes.  Following that event, Michael Symon will sign copies of his new cookbook, 5 In 5: Fresh Ingredients + 5 Minutes = 120 Fantastic Dinners, inside 28 West.

Saturday will also feature a “Lunch & Learn” event at Wolfgang Puck American Grill, hosted by the restaurant’s Executive Chef Aram Mardigian.

“Guests will enjoy a three-course lunch paired with wine, while learning how to create several of Puck’s classic dishes,” states the release from the Borgata. “Down the hall, former White House Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus DuBois – who currently oversees pastry production for both AAA Four-Diamond Borgata and Water Club hotels – will celebrate his sweet tooth at ‘Confectioner’s Delight: The Art of Marzipan,’ a lesson on how to sculpt delectable fruits and flowers.

“Also on Saturday, Fornelletto’s Chef/Partner, Stephen Kalt, will host ‘Holy Ravioli,’ sharing his expertise on the quintessential Italian dish, and Izakaya’s Chef/Partner, Michael Schulson, will host ‘Sushi & Sake with Schulson,’ demonstrating just how easy and fun sushi-making can be.”

Borgata will also present tasting events for guests to pick their poison amidst bourbon, tequila, beer, and wine seminars across the property on Saturday. The Long Bar will host “Wild Turkey Bourbon & BBQ”; the Gypsy Bar will host “Tequila n’ Tacos”; and 28 West will host “Bites are Better with Beer.”

Wine lovers will not be left out as the Borgata’s signature hotel, The Water Club, will host “Eyes Wine Shut with Master Sommelier Robert Bigelow” and “Wine Seminar with Francis Ford Coppola Winery.”

On Sunday, November 10, Atlantic City’s Top Restaurant, Old Homestead Steak House — named Atlantic City’s “Top Restaurant” in both the 2012 and 2013 editions of Zagat’s America’s Top Restaurants Guide — will offer more savoring for foodies with a “Sunday Brunch,” hosted by restaurateurs Greg and Marc Sherry.

Finally, later that day, Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, will close the weekend with “Absolut-ly Fabulous” in The Sunroom lounge. An intimate group of foodies will be able to enjoy a four-course tasting of Zakarian’s small bites, paired with Absolut cocktails.
