American Idol Top Ten

Candice Glover

Candice Glover

As Ryan Seacrest declared: “America has spoken.”

From my point of view the voters did an excellent job of weeding out the stiffs and getting us to the best singers, although I’ll argue that Lazaro “Pretty in Pink” Arbos got there thanks to his story and the teen “cute” factor.

Last night we learned there is no Wild Card this year, but next week voters will get a chance to pick one of the losers (either the boy or girl who just missed the cut) to be on the Idol tour.  Here is hoping that the choices are either Aubrey or Breanna for the gals and Nick for the boys.

I wasn’t a fan of the “victory” song for the top ten. With all the emotion involved, most of them were too overwrought to sing well with the notable exceptions of Candice (her best performance so far) and Kree. Here then is my take on the top ten:

1. Kree Harrison
2. Candice Glover
3. Angela Miller
4. Devin Velez
5. Amber Holcomb
6. Janelle Arthur
7. Curtis Finch, Jr.
8. Burnell Taylor
9. Paul Jolley
10. Lazaro Arbos

Massively disagree with where you’ve put Burnell. He’s the best Boy by far
