Resorts Hosts All Star Boxing Legends Gala
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is among the boxers, trainers, managers, promoters and officials scheduled to be honored and attend the All Star Boxing Legends Gala on June 2 at Resorts Casino Hotel. The event starts at 8pm and tickets are $100.
Tickets are available through Resorts’ Box Office or through Ticketmaster. Tickets include the cocktail hour, dinner and presentations.
The gala will honor the history of boxing in Atlantic City as well as the late Joe Frazier.
Others who have confirmed their attendance include Mike Tyson, Frank Cappuccino, Joe Cortez, Riddick Bowe, Bobby Czyz, Lou Duva, Mike Rossman, Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Larry Hazzard, Hall of Fame trainer Lou Duva, Thomas Hearns, Richie Kates and former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon of Atlantic City. The event is part of the Atlantic City Multi-Cultural Heritage Festival Weekend, June 1–3. A three-course dinner will follow a cocktail hour.
Atlantic City holds a special place in boxing history. “From the world championship fight of 1963 to Mike Tyson’s 13 bouts to the storied battles between Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward, Atlantic City has seen more than its fair share of highlight reel moments,” says Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford. “From debut fights for up-and-comers to the established greats, Atlantic City has been on the forefront of the boxing scene and this not-to-be-missed gala provides a unique setting to remember, celebrate and honor those associated with the sport of boxing in Atlantic City.”
