Atlantic City Seafood Fest, A.C. Triathlon, Return in September
ATLANTIC CITY — The city of Atlantic City and event planner Good Time Tricycle have announced that the two-day Atlantic City Seafood Festival returns to the resort, featuring cuisine from local restaurants and several culinary personalities.
The festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, rain or shine at Bader Field. The location provides an ample footprint for the variety of multicultural restaurants, fisherman, and crafters.
Along with the fabulous food, the festival will also be offering live entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. Kids will be treated to a petting zoo, pony rides and kite flying, and other activities include live music, sand sculpting, and a showcase of the beer and wine of the Garden State.
Additionally, triathletes will be able to “Tri” their luck at the Second Annual Atlantic City International Triathlon on Sept. 15, which will be held in conjunction with the Seafood Fest. The A.C. Triathlon has quickly become a classic endurance event by being voted one of the “Top Eight Vacation Destination Races of 2011” by Active.com. The featured international-distance event includes a one-mile swim, a 20-mile bike and a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) run, while the “sprint” race consists of a quarter-mile swim, 10-mile bike, and 5K (3.1-mile) run. The sprint event was added to attract more athletes. Both events start at Bader Field at 7am and include a bay swim, Expressway bike ride and Boardwalk run.
Festival tickets are $10 person, and kids under 12 are admitted free. On-site parking is just $5. The festival pricing makes the event affordable for the entire family.
