This week’s Legend’s Performer of the Week is Tyler Hunter as Elvis Presley.
Age has no bearing on the influence Elvis can have on you. Born June 28, 1990, Tyler realized as an early teen that Elvis was going to be a big part of his life. It began with watching an Elvis performer in his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. Tyler would dance to “Rubberneckin’” and gradually wanted to sing Elvis songs himself. A few high school talent shows at the age of 15 started the journey.
Tyler has been an Elvis Tribute Artist since the age of 18. In April of 2010 he competed in his first Ultimate Elvis preliminary in Branson, MO. Then in July he competed in Las Vegas at The Freemont Street Experience. That venue was the one that put the fire in Tyler. To have so many people with such a passion for Elvis there supporting you and screaming for more confirmed why he does a Tribute to Elvis. In August of that year Tyler made the trip to Memphis, singing at several locations and enjoying the festivities of Elvis Week. Tyler was also a performer in Memphis this year during the celebration of Elvis’ birthday in January and Elvis Week in August.
To see Tyler perform is really to be a part of the show yourself. His stage presence is undeniable. Every show brings a new experience as he seems to bring more power and emotion. Tyler has the ability to make you feel that each performance you are seeing is the best yet. He performed for Legends in Concert at the Foxwoods Casino and Resort in Connecticut in July 2011.
