Bally’s Supersizes Monopoly on Atlantic City Boardwalk
Atlantic City could use more of this kind of fun promotion as Bally’s has constructed a giant Monopoly Board on the Boardwalk in front of the Dennis Courtyard.
That’s right, a giant Monopoly Board in the city that was actually the inspiration for the game’s original streets and layout. Needless to say, it’s a tourist photo op made in heaven.
The construction was made to highlight Bally’s “Pass GO! Collect $200” promotion which started Sept. 1.
According to Bally’s: “This fun take on the world’s favorite game brand will feature two unique contests for Bally’s Atlantic City Total Reward program customers. The first will randomly reward 200 Total Reward customers every day during the promotion with a chance to win up to $200 in slot and table game play. Participants are eligible for entry when they swipe their Total Rewards cards at Bally’s promotional kiosks between 11am and 7pm.
The second contest features a MONOPOLY game board for participants to collect game pieces (up to three a day) for a chance to win a grand prize of $500,000. Total Rewards customers will receive one game piece for every 100 Base Reward Credits they earn. This promotion is valid seven days a week and will last through December 2, 2011.
So to celebrate all that the casino’s special projects team constructed the giant replica of the classic MONOPOLY game board. It measures 52 square feet and comes with oversize dice and huge game pieces.

The game is truly iconic and we are proud to bring a promotion of this magnitude back to the game’s hometown,” said Joe Domenico, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bally’s and Showboat Atlantic City. “I invite all MONOPOLY fans to join us at Bally’s, located at Boardwalk and Park Place, and take part in the festivities.”

Of course, many of those reinventions was to make new editions of the game using other city’s streets, but we won’t get picky. Hazbro hasn’t always backed city efforts to promote the Monopoly connection, so this is a welcome edition to the Boardwalk.
