Andre Ward, Carl Froch Meet the Press in U.K.
ATLANTIC CITY — With less than two months until the big final showdown in the Showtime Super Six World Boxing Classic, slated for Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday, Oct. 29, the two finalist fighters have kicked off a three-city media tour to officially announce the Oct. 29 event — in the U.K.
The fighters, Andre Ward and Carl Froch, appeared at a press conference Monday in London (see photo above) where they answered questions from various members of the world media.
Froch, who recently told livefight.com that after recently taken a relaxing vacation in Montego Bay, Jamiaca, where he was spotted playing chess with Lennox Lewis, he has a very meticulously scheduled prep plan for October’s battle with Ward, says he is not intimidated by one of the best boxers in the world.
“I have not been impressed with Andre and his level of opposition,” Froch told reporters Monday.
Among other items, Froch also added, “On Oct. 29, as long as it’s a clean, fair fight, I am not worred about Ward. He has no power whatsoever.”
The undefeated Ward responded:
“I’ve been in boxing [for more than 15 years]; I know what he’s doing. He has to do this in his mind. He has to minimize me, minimize my accomplishments and performances. And that’s OK. I understand. I’ll just remind him that we have a date set. Oct. 29 — that will come soon enough and we’ll see.
