This summer, Atlantic City restaurateurs Maureen Shay and Frank Dougherty will open the doors to their newest venture, located inside Bally’s Atlantic City. Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood will feature extensive raw bar and fresh seafood in a fun and relaxed atmosphere on the site of the historic Dennis Hotel on Atlantic City’s famed boardwalk.

The husband and wife duo of Shay and Dougherty are well known in the area. The pair have won legions of fans and critical praise as owners of two of Atlantic City’s most popular and highly acclaimed restaurants—Dock’s Oyster House and the Knife & Fork Inn. Their notion for Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood is a return to the Dougherty family’s roots.

“Our concept for Harry’s was to recreate the type of old time seafood house that my great grandfather Harry Dougherty brought to Atlantic City nearly 115 years ago when he started Dock’s,” said Dougherty. “The focus is on fresh and affordable seafood served in a fun, friendly atmosphere. We also wanted to take advantage of the vast courtyard of the Dennis Hotel to offer an outdoor dining experience that is far too uncommon in modern day Atlantic City.”

Harry’s will showcase several varieties of fresh, seasonal fish prepared “your way”—grilled, pan roasted, fried or blackened and topped with the sauce of your choosing. The menu is rounded out with traditional bar appetizers, fresh salads and house-made chowders and soups as well as sandwiches, burgers, steaks and chicken.

Menus will be printed daily to take advantage of the freshest catches. In addition to the raw bar featuring 13 different oysters, clams, shrimp, crabmeat, lobster and ceviche, house specialties will include a classic Lobster Roll, Oyster Po’ Boys and Harry’s Clam Bake — clams, mussels, scallops and a one pound lobster braised together with corn, red bliss potatoes and chorizo. The full bar will feature specialty cocktails, 20 wines by the glass, ten beers on tap and a wide selection of micro brews.

Guests can stroll into the picturesque courtyard which adjoins the Boardwalk and dine outside in Harry’s comfortable patio area or continue inside, where a wall of windows offers views of the courtyard and patio.

Those who want a side of pro sports action with their oysters will enjoy the fifteen flat screen TVs in both the indoor bar and outdoor seating area. The expansive courtyard will also play host to various private and public functions, affording Harry’s guests premium views.

Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, from 11:30am to 12:30am. Details surrounding the summer grand opening of Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood will be announced soon.
