SEA ISLE CITY, NJ – On Saturday, Feb. 19, tens of thousands of spectators looked on while thousands of plungers participated in Sea Isle City’s 17th Annual Polar Bear Plunge — its biggest one yet. It was also the resort’s largest winter event to date. The weekend-long festivities included a contest on Friday evening to crown the 2011 Polar Bear “Royal Family” and a 5K Run for Autism on Sunday. On Saturday, the town was filled with revelers for the plunge and the pre-plunge costume contest at La Costa Lounge.
The costume contest awarded prizes in four categories.
