Dave Matthews Band Coming to Atlantic City — Plus?
According to a report today in Atlantic City’s daily newspaper, the Dave Matthews Band “will headline a three-day music festival at Atlantic City’s defunct Bader Field municipal airport in late June, according to sources.”
Two weeks ago, Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford told Atlantic City Weekly that contracts were being finalized between a big-name promoter and the city with regard to the three-day music festival at Bader Field, which he announced in January.
Today’s report says that the Dave Matthews Band “and several other acts” are slated to perform in Atlantic City on June 24, 25 & 26.
According to the report, “The Atlantic City festival will be the first of four music festivals the band will headline throughout the summer as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.”
The report also states the following little nugget:
“[The City of Atlantic City] has also approved a special events permit and license agreement for Starr Hill Presents Atlantic City LLC to hold a three-day, outdoor, live music festival at Bader Field on June 24, 25 and 26. The company is a subsidiary of Starr Hill Presents, a Virginia-based independent, live entertainment promoter that has participated in coordinating nationwide music festivals such as the Boonaroo Music and Arts Festival, the Mile High Music Festival in Denver and the Wanderlust festivals in Florida, Vermont and California.”
AC Weekly could not get in touch with Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford to talk about the music festival or today’s newspaper report.
