Miss’d America Pageant to Return to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall!
The Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance and Schultz-Hill Scholarship Foundation recently announced the return of the Miss’d America Pageant to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.
Carson Kressley, host of ABC’s True Beauty and Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, will once again bring his one-of-a-kind humor and showmanship to the pageant as co-host. Also co-hosting will be Robert “Sandy Beach” Hitchen, who is also the pageant’s co-writer and co-director along with Mark Dahl.
Miss’d America 2010, Michelle Dupree (Scott Cooper) will also co-host portions of the pageant. Melanie Rice and Richard Helfant, president of the Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance, will serve as executive directors.
“With the success of last year’s pageant raising more than $30,000 for charity, we are extremely excited to bring Miss’d America back with lavish
sets, incredible production numbers featuring the lovely and talented Erika Schiff, along with the Miss’d America Dancers and even more contestants,” said Helfant in a media release.
The theme of 2011’s pageant will be Boardwalk Empress, with set details and production numbers to mimic a 1920’s Atlantic City speakeasy. For tickets, go here or call 800-736-1420. Tickets are $35, $65 and $100. For more, go here.
