Ladies and Gentlemen … the Sheatles!
The Sheatles — America’s only all-female Beatles tribute band — will appear at Harrah’s Eden Lounge on Thursday, July 22. They will perform three sets, including three costume changes, from 9pm-1am.
In the past the “Fab Femmes” have opened for the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, the Allman Brothers, Cheap Trick, the Spice Girls and others, and have appeared on MTV, VHI and The Tonight Show. Not only does the group put a “new twist” on the timeless classics of the Beatles, the Sheatles have had both indirect and direct contact with the Beatles themselves.
Drummer Dena Tauriello is also a member of the national all-female rock group Antigone Rising. She met Mark Hudson, who was Ringo Starr’s producer for 10 years, and when Hudson told Starr that Tauriello is a “female Ringo,” he autographed his drum sticks and they were given to her by Hudson.
Lead guitarist Mimi Boswell doubles as a professional photographer, whose first encounter with a famous musician was George Harrison. Boswell met Harrison when he was boarding a plan to India. She presented him with flowers but he couldn’t take them on the International flight, so he told her to give the flowers to her mother. That gesture inspired her to take up the guitar. She has since photographed Ringo, John, George and Paul numerous times.
Keyboardist/guitarist Kerri Parrott was a young teen when John Lennon was killed in 1980 and shortly thereafter had “a teenager’s dream” of playing in a band with Lennon’s son, Julian. Her resolve eventually led to her having a telephone conversation with Cynthia Lennon, John’s first wife and Julian’s mom.
