Jersey fresh berries from Surf & Turf Farm.
Thanks to excellent spring weather, the Jersey Fresh picking season has begun two weeks early this year. I called the Surf & Turf farm in Pomona and found out their strawberries were available, and boy are they beautiful, a bumper crop. Several families were out on a glorious spring day, including the young man pictured who was pleased as punch about his berries. You can’t beat berry picking as a great family activity.
Surf & Turf at 251 South Odessa Ave., Pomona, (609) 965-4607, is open for picking from 8am-6pm, but is closed on Sunday. Get there soon; the season is short.
