Sonic’s Refreshing Diet Limeade

For several years, I have been watching these TV commercials for the Sonic fast food chain, featuring the two goofy Sonic guys, Pete and T.J., arguing over tater tots and the like. I found them annoying since I had to put up with them during numerous sporting events and I had never even seen a Sonic.

However, lo and behold, several months back a Sonic opened in Somers Point. I’m not a big fast food fan but the commercials had whetted my appetite and curiosity. So far, I’ve found the burgers, chicken strips and a breakfast burrito pretty standard fast food fare. However, the drink selection and prices have made me a Sonic regular, especially on the weekends when I can take advantage of their daily Happy Hour, with all beverages half price from 2-4pm. Sonic’s Route 44 (44 oz.) diet limeade is incredibly delicious and refreshing. I’m a diabetic and I rarely utter the words “I can’t believe it’s diet,” but I think it every time I start enjoying this limeade made with real limes and carbonated for a nice fizz finish. That you can get something this delicious and this big for just $1.15 on a hot summer day is a serious best buy.

Check out their Web site and hit the “What is Sonic?” button to see Pete and T.J. explain Sonic in several lessons known as Sonic 101. It’s pretty funny and informative. I couldn’t begin to tell you all the beverage choices they have from limeade, to root beer floats to milkshakes and much, much more.
