Starting Friday, Sept. 18, the Comedy Stop Café & Cabaret, located on the upper level of The Quarter at Tropicana, will host an Open Mic Contest for amateur comedians. Contestants must be at least 18 years of age and have never been paid for a comedy performance. You must submit a 15-minute DVD recording of a clean set worthy of network TV (not cable!), and an 8- by 10-inch color headshot with resumé and supporting publicity. All materials must be submitted no later than Sept. 13!
Send information to Darcey Pancari, P.O. Box 519, Longport, NJ, 08403. The contest will run for eight weeks, with the finals being Friday, Nov. 13. Each week six contestants will be picked to perform, and one of the six will be selected for the finals. A total of eight contestants will compete in the Friday, Nov. 13 finals.
