The Atlantic City Hilton threw a beach party on the beach outside the front door of their casino hotel. According to estimates, the Beach Boys drew a crowd of 50,000 people. Mayor Scott Evans of Atlantic City became a Beach Boy for a few minutes as he sang with a host of young ladies and the Beach Boys.
Mike Love is an original Beach Boy and Bruce Johnston has been a member since 1963 when he replaced Glen Campbell except for 1972 to 1979 when he left the band to work on a recording project.
The personable John Stamos showed off his versatile musical talents by playing guitar, singing vocals, playing the drums, congas and timpani.
Stamos is the former co-star of the TV show, Full House (1987-1995) currently intern Tony Gates on the TV show ER.
The boys from California opened with Mike Love singing lead on “California Girls.” Stamos, guitar in hand, shared Mike Love’s microphone during a good portion of the song “Sloop John B” (Pet Soundsalbum).
